About this Job

Overview

YFP seeks an Associate Financial Planner (“Associate Planner”) to assist with planning for our current and new clients. The Associate Planner is a junior member of the financial planning team, working under the direction of the Lead Financial Planner and Financial Planner/Portfolio Manager. Other details about this position include:

  • W-2 position
  • Hours: 40-45 hours per week w/flexible schedule
  • Direct Reports: 0
  • Reports to: Lead Planner
  • Location: Virtual
  • Start Date: ASAP  

Responsibilities

Your core task is to support the Lead Planner and Financial Planner/Portfolio Manager with the client relationship and financial planning process; this includes:

  • Gather, analyze and help evaluate client information
  • Prepare client meetings and presentations
  • Create and model different possible financial scenarios
  • Assist with the development and communication of recommendations
  • Answer client questions and concerns
  • Follow up and assist clients with plan implementation
  • Help monitor the plan and make changes over time  

Other tasks:

  • Monitor client account activity, research and resolve issues, and following through to ensure the client’s needs are met
  • Document client meetings and update the CRM, as necessary
  • Making proactive use of technology to streamline client interactions
  • Assist with: Billing process; Prepare and review all new account paperwork to ensure documents are complete and in good order; Track incoming rollovers, investment funding and transfers to ensure that all applicable accounts move as expected
  • Support the firm’s initiatives, assisting with any company-wide projects or activities and attending functions, as needed


Requirements:

  • Applicants must have their Series 65, or be a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ candidate, or be a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™
  • 0-3 years of experience in financial planning or client service. If 0 years of experience, applicants must have a degree in Personal Financial Planning and obtain the Series 65 within 3 months of employment
  • Exceptional organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Exceptional client service skills
  • Willingness to continuously learn
  • Ability to be productive in a remote working environment with minimal supervision, manage competing demands and work with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Comfortable with technology (Hardware (provided by YFP): Macbook, extra monitor, good mic); Software: Google Suite: Gmail, Calendar, Meet, Chat, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides; Financial planning software: RightCapital; CRM: Wealthbox; Portfolio Analyzer: Kwanti; AI Notetaker: Jump)

  • A suitable home office environment (quiet, professional backdrop)
  • Excellent internet connection
  • A decent smartphone

Compensation 

  • Competitive salary based on experience and bonus opportunities: $1,000 per year professional development stipend; Professional development certification bonus available upon need and approval; Client referral bonus available; Performance bonus available
