About this Job

Overview

YFP seeks seasonal tax preparers, who provide support to the Director of Tax and Tax Specialist to further enhance client satisfaction. Candidates should have recent experience preparing individual and small business tax returns. We expect these positions to offer the opportunity to return annually along with occasional full-time positions becoming available as our tax and accounting practice grows. Other details about this position include:

  • Hourly compensation commensurate with experience
  • 1099 position
  • Seasonal/contract
  • Direct Reports: 0
  • Reports to: Director of Tax
  • Location: Virtual
  • Start Date: January 2022

Responsibilities

  • Data entry and preparation of individual and small business, federal and state tax returns
  • Client workflow and follow-up to ensure filing deadlines are met without sacrificing quality
  • Be informed of 2021 tax law changes
  • Work independently

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a tax professional
  • Valid Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
  • Prefer EA or individual in process of obtaining the EA designation
  • Working knowledge of Intuit Link & ProConnect tax software
  • Positive, reliable, self-motivated 
  • Deadline driven problem solver with a strong customer service focus
  • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Willingness to continuously learn and accept feedback
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Ability to be productive in a remote working environment with minimal supervision, manage competing demands and work with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
